METAIRIE, La. (AP) — Saints quarterback Derek Carr was a full participant at practice on Wednesday but remained in the concussion protocol as New Orleans prepares to play at Atlanta on Sunday.“Ultimately, he’s got to get cleared by the doctors,” coach Dennis Allen said.Allen also said Carr “looked good” during practice.Carr left the Saints’ 27-19 loss at Minnesota after being leveled by Danielle Hunter in the third quarter. New Orleans had a bye last week, giving the 10th-year QB more time to recover.Carr was in the locker room when reporters were present Wednesday but was not available for interviews, which is not unusual for players still recovering from an injury.Saints top cornerback Marshon Lattimore also did not practice. Allen already has said his absence could be lengthy but that his ankle injury was not expected to be season-ending.The Saints have not placed Lattimore on injured reserve as they did with receiver Michael Thomas on Tuesday. Doing so would require Lattim...Swope scores 21, Indiana State knocks off Pepperdine 90-82

As giving season begins, many nonprofits continue to struggle with not only donations being down, but also staff and volunteer shortages.“We’re seeing a lot of challenges for nonprofits this year,” said Rick Cohen, chief communications officer and chief operating officer for the National Council of Nonprofits in D.C.Cohen said data provided by the nonprofits represented by the council showed that from 2021 to 2022 individual donations fell by 13.4%. Also seen last year, the amount of disposable income held by any one person dropped to a 40-year-low of 1.7%, according to the organization’s data. This year, things are not expected to go back up but instead remain about the same, a projection that Cohen admits is probably optimistic.“It (2023) is looking to be more level than up or down, which I guess is better than down but still with inflation, where it is, even level giving turns into a down year in terms of real dollars,” he said.In the survey, seven out of 10 nonprofits...Steelers look to continue playoff push against Burrow-less Bengals

THE HAGUE — One line in Geert Wilders’ inflammatory pitch to Dutch voters will haunt Brussels more than any other: a referendum on leaving the EU. Seven years after the British voted for Brexit, a so-called Nexit ballot was a core plank of the far-right leader’s ultimately successful offer in the Netherlands. And while Wilders softened his anti-Islam rhetoric in recent weeks, there are no signs he wants to water down his Euroskepticism after his shock election victory. Even if Dutch voters are not persuaded to follow the Brits out of the EU — polling suggests it’s unlikely — there’s every indication that a Wilders-led government in The Hague will still be a nightmare for Brussels.A seat for Wilders around the EU summit table would transform the dynamic, alongside other far-right and nationalist leaders already in post. Suddenly, policies ranging from climate action, to EU reform and even weapons for Ukraine will be up for debate, and even reversal. Since the ex...Latest news
